we are fa-mi-ly! (say it like you are singin the song!)

here is an ode to my oh so wonderful family!

first off these are my hero! and i mean it in a singular form. they are my hero! together. they make up what i want to be:) these are my parents

they are the best parents ever! my mom is supermom:) my whole life she has been everything... tutor, worker, personal trainer, chef, cheerleader, and every other possible thing a mom could be. never once have i doubted the love she has for me. have i taken it for granted? yes. but still she loves me! i know she would do anything for me and be there whenever i need her. i love her motivation! talk about a go getter! when something needs done she does it and she does it right. im glad she taught me how to do that. her saying, "never settle," is always ringing in my ears. 

my dad is the most amazing man i know. he sacrifices so much for his family. ive seen so many times how he would give up something he wanted so his family could have what they needed. he would give up precious sleep to work late, or early, hours. he really would do anything for us, his family. he also taught me to love the game i play! sometimes baseball is the best release for me! i love that game and im so grateful my dad taught me to play it:) 

this is jord. probably the most solid individual you will ever meet! this kid is a rock! right now he is serving a mission for the church of jesus christ of latter-day saints and he couldnt be more prepared. this young man loves the lord and is giving all his heart and soul to him. plus he is hilarious! no one who has spent more than 45 seconds around jord has not laughed. he has his own language, his own style, his own quirks... its crazy. he can turn dry situations into parties without even trying. i love him so much and am so proud to call him my brother:)

and this is dalton... most commonly know as bubba:)

what a stallion this kid is too! he is a straight "a" student, a master cinematographer, a man of many faces haha and a darn good little athlete. when i left on my mission he was just a little boy... when i came back, although his size didnt change much, he wasnt the same little boy i knew. he is a stud. i cant wait until i can be home long enough to spend some good time with him. he is at that age now to where we can do so much more stuff together! we can compete in sports, we can talk about girls, we can just hang out... my littlest bro is gunna be my biggest friend! i love you bro! 

so yeah... i have the best family in the world! i couldnt live without them and i never will have to! this family is forever baby!

thats what i love about sunday!!!

i was inspired by some country music i was listening to last night:) a song by craig morgan came on called "thats what i love about sunday" and it really made me think! the song just explains all the things he loves about the sabbath day. for example, seeing people at least making an effort to dress up, hearing people who cant sing well sing cuz they love the way it makes them feel, family meals together, spending time with the ones you love... and then i was like, you know what craig? i love sundays too! so i wanted to share some of the reasons i look forward to my sunday every week:)

reason one:

i really enjoy attending church here at svu:) its great to see so many college students who attend on their own free will! it makes it so much more enjoyable when you are there with people who want to be there haha i totally look forward to seeing my church family! plus, church is such a nice escape from the rest of the week. my schedule all week forces me to go a million miles an hour all week and then sunday just says hey, come relax and enjoy the spirit! you got it sunday, id love to! 

reason two:

so its easy to tell which one is me... just look for the white patch on the back of my head lol but this picture depicts my love of naps:) obviously i developed this love from a young age! but thats what i love about sundays! i can take a justified nap...



ok so maybe i dont love them as much as this little girl but still! because of sundays, mondays dont suck as bad lol cuz at least i know ill be rested and ready for my week

reason three:



sorry its tilted but this is a video of one of my other passions... sunday dance offs! haha who will be the challenger this week? come over and lets make a video! ill let you choose the genre and everything... but bring your "a" game!

ok other reasons - i just love hanging out with my friends and not feeling like we have to go and do something extravagant. we can all just kick it and enjoy each others company:)  oh and how can i leave out sunday dinners! they are the best! man, the coolest thing ever is when its sunny and warm on a sunday and i can go for a sunday car drive with the windows down:) or since im at svu without a car it would be a sunday walk lol i think i might try a bike ride one if these day tho! that could be enjoyable.



the main thing is god gave us sundays to take time away from all the things we do during the rest of the week and to learn to love to slow down. so think about that this next sunday. find the ones you care about and show god together how much you care about him:) 


so its sunday right now... and im gunna go love every minute of it:) until next time... brandon out! peace

live it up!!!

life goes by really really fast... days seem to last a lifetime but weeks fly by! how does that happen? it doesnt make a lot of sense but the past comes quickly. before you know it all the cool things you do are behind you and done with. so live it up! you gotta learn to savor the little things:) thats my motto! life passes to quickly to get all caught up with complications... just look closely and you will find so many little things to make you happy! for example -

- how cool is it when silence ISNT awkward?

- you cant not smile when you get mail that isnt junk! like a legit letter

- doesnt it feel good to wear something new? for me new baseball stuff is the best feeling ever!

- random 75 degree weather:)

- peanut m&ms

- random surprise attack hugs when you least expect them!

- texts that just say hi

- just knowing you get to sleep in tomorrow morning:) its the best

 i bet if you just paid attention you would find some little things that make your day better. they happen all the time. the trick is just learning to recognize them. so look! and live it up!

First blog ever!

ok so all my friends are doing this blogging thing so i thought id give it a try:) right now life is good... im in my first semester at southern virginia university and i love it here! except for the cold. that kinda sucks. but other than that its way sweet. its not an official byu but its kinda got a feel like that. there are tons of members here... like 90 somthin percent! its great to be surrounded by a bunch of great people... real people. plus virginia is beautiful. the mountains (tiny ones but still mountains) are all around us and there are tons of trees... its got a nice southern feel. its calming. you gotta see it in the fall tho! seriously you have never seen so many colors in the trees! so rediculous. oh and im playing for the baseball team too! we are 3-1 as of right now! we got a sqaud for reals. if we dont take nationals this year it would be a big upset. im playin left field which is cool but i wanna move to the infield next year. ive made some really good friends too:) my roommate mitch mantle is the man! you should hear him play the guitar... he jams. then there is my boy andrew jones! haha what a kid. you cant help but laugh when he is around. then we got the rest of the baseball crew! i love those guys. shout out to mia and ashley and gina too! oh and i met this amazing girl:) her name is laura and she rocks! i love being around her. so yeah life is good... what else do you write in a blog? idk. ill get better at it. until next time... brandon out! peace
